Coronavirus: Translink boss says so many drunk and drugged passengers piled into small station they were in danger of being crushed

Good afternoon,

If you have visited our website over the last few days you will know we have been monitoring the situation at Helen's Bay where large numbers of young people flocked to during the recent spell of warm weather.

Photographs and videos have been circulated on social media showing young people failing to adhere to the social distancing guidelines in Helen's Bay.

Translink Chief Executive, Chris Conway, told Stormont's infrastructure committee on Wednesday morning that there were so many drunk and drugged-up youngsters at the Helen's Bay railway station on Monday that there was a danger of people being "crushed" - READ THE FULL STORY HERE.

We also have the news that the NI Executive is to introduce a 14 day quarantine for anyone entering Northern Ireland from outside the Common Travel Area.

It essentially means anyone from Northern Ireland going on holiday when the measure is active will have to remain inside their home when they return - READ THE FULL STORY HERE.

The measure has been criticised by Belfast International Airport Managing Director, Graham Keddie, who claims the NI Executive decided to introduce the measure without any consultation of the industry - READ MORE HERE.
