Good afternoon,

Welcome to today's Coronavirus update from the team at the News Letter.  I hope you find it informative.

"We cannot simply bounce from one lockdown to another."  Writing for today's edition, First Minister Arlene Foster says the Executive's choice over Covid restrictions was between "a quick but damaging decision, or to strive for a better and balanced outcome".

However, the BMA's Northern Ireland chair, Dr Tom Black, has slammed Stormont's decision not to impose a fresh lockdown as "incompetent and negligent" and says it betrays local healthcare workers.

It has been announced how Belfast International Airport is to make cost-saving closures as a result of the ongoing pandemic. Reporter Mark Rainey examines what this means for the airport.
