| Claire Cartmill | Business Reporter | | Welcome Back – big moves and bright news in NI business this week... As the sunshine continues, so does the momentum in Northern Ireland's business scene. It's been a strong week, particularly in the ever-thriving food sector. M&S has joined forces with a County Armagh farm to supply locally grown parsnips across the Island of Ireland, while a Limavady couple behind an artisan rapeseed oil are celebrating a major milestone - their "liquid gold" is now stocked in 34 Tesco stores. In Coleraine, the opening date has been confirmed for a new £4m McDonald's drive-thru beside a Coleraine supermarket (pictures and video), and over in Portrush, a coffee shop's fun rebrand in honour of Rory McIlroy is already turning heads and inspiring plenty of selfies. Meanwhile in Kilkeel, Henderson Retail has unveiled its largest fresh food store yet, doubling the size of its local Eurospar after a £4.7m refit - yet another sign of confidence and growth in the sector. And finally with the Balmoral Show kicking off today, we've got a great piece from Sam Butler on how small food producers are hoping to gain a big boost from the four-day showcase. We're also growing our appointments section like Coleraine man's new role as manager at a NI automation firm. Got a new hire or promotion to shout about? I'd love to feature it... And don't miss this week's Love Your Local, where we meet Jonathon, who swapped insurance claims for cakes and found sweet success with Belfast Cheesecake Co. Got business news or feedback? I'd love to hear from you claire.cartmill@jpress.co.uk Enjoy the sunshine! Claire |
