| It is damp today as it has been much of the week. But with spring not in fact yet over (quite) it has easily been the sunniest such season on record in Northern Ireland. After Gerry Adams won his libel action against the BBC, the government has said it will not let the former Sinn Fein leader get compensation in the UK. We have multiple pages in the weekend print paper News Letter on the case. Gavin Robinson is among politicians who have said their thoughts at this time are with IRA victims. I write that if it is a choice between the 'new' Ireland and the old one, I will actually take the latter. In other news, the cost of running the office of the head of the civil service has soared under Jayne Brady. Meanwhile, the man who made up claims of anti Catholic sectarianism in the PSNI has paid back money he owed to the Police Federation.
