Only days ago the temperature in Northern Ireland was not dropping below 13 Celsius at night yet some days coming up it is forecast to go no higher than that in the day. Some people might put on their heating, but if they do oil prices are now low.

This is the last day of the Isle of Man TT from where Kyle White has been reporting. Michael Dunlop, after breaking a record held by his uncle Joey, is hoping to finish on a flourish.

After days of D-Day commemorations in England and France, a Royal Irish Regiment service in Normandy yesterday was attended by the Church of Ireland and Catholic archbishops.

I write that, in a way, the older we get the more those of us born after the war realise that it was not, as we thought as kids, a long time ago - it was quite recent.

Sinn Fein and Irish leaders have been criticised for not attending D-Day events but this editorial asks if they should in fact be there if they still think neutrality was the right response to the Nazis.

Pat Cullen is under pressure again to state her view on past republican violence, as the daughter of a nurse murdered in the Poppy Day bomb says she considers Sinn Fein and the IRA to be the same

Linfield football club is mourning both the death of its physio and a lifelong fan, while tributes have been paid to the Ulster country singer Rose-Marie, who has died suddenly.

Enjoy your reading and your Saturday,

Ben
