| Claire Cartmill | Business Reporter | | It's been a right royal week in Northern Ireland — quite literally. A Belfast fashion retailer is "still on a high" after the Princess of Wales browsed her linen collection during a surprise visit by William and Kate, who also stopped by a flax farm in Cookstown. Entrepreneurship shone brightly this week too, with a Lisburn cobbler taking the reins of a 50-year-old shoe shop where he started as an apprentice, and a NI property expert is set to open his own agency in his grandfather's former 1950s barbershop. Meanwhile, a long-standing NI travel agency is embracing change, closing its office, restructuring and moving to a remote model after nearly 40 years. In retail and hospitality, momentum also continues: Primark announces the opening date for its new Ballymena store, Wagamama reopens in Belfast on October 22, Sephora is set to land in 2026, and Black Sheep Coffee launches its second Belfast café this November. And in our Love Your Local spotlight: Olivia Burns turned candle-making in her Coleraine kitchen into a luxury fragrance brand with three stores and a global following — proving that passion really does spark success. As always, we want to hear from you! If you're marking a business milestone, announcing a new appointment, or know of a fantastic local business we should feature in our Love Your Local spotlight — get in touch.
