It has been intermittently sunny today, amidst the ongoing bleak autumnal weather. Tonight the clocks go back, so the evenings will get darker.

It was clear weeks ago that Catherine Connolly would win the Irish presidency. Heather Humphreys has conceded, even though the result has not been formally announced.

Ms Humphreys, a Presbyterian from Monaghan, says her family suffered 'sectarian abuse'. The SDLP has already said Sinn Fein-backed Ms Connolly should push an all Ireland.

The Church of Ireland denies a schism in which a conservative Anglican group has taken over.

We report Prince Andrew's alleged financial link to a Northern Ireland caravan park owner whose businesses collapsed.

The Free Presbyterians have expressed 'Godly sorrow' at the king praying with the pope.

My column is on how IRA carnage made truth over Bloody Sunday almost impossible at the time.

This week I was at the funeral of Alan McQuillan. When men such as him and Ed Moloney die, much information on the Troubles goes too.

Enjoy your weekend and your reading,

Ben
