It is intermittently wet again today yet data, this time from Armagh (which has records back to the 1800s), confirms how both spring and the month of May not merely beat sunshine records, but smashed them. It is striking that we even had to ask if the civil service head Jayne Brady, about whom we have been reporting all week, was going to attend the Pride event in Belfast this year, given the radical stance it has taken against her political bosses, but we did. Talking of civil service heads, Sir Ken Bloomfield's funeral is this week. Here is a story about how he and Margaret Thatcher had both experienced IRA attempts on their lives. Once again the Policing Board's inadequate handling of the lies from 'Sean' about anti Catholic abuse is in the spotlight. After the appalling decision of Queen's University to follow Trinity College Dublin in cutting links with Israel, this is an interesting question that has been posed: will it cut links with its pro Israel chancellor Hillary Clinton?
