Subscribe              I N S I D E R           Dec 9, 2023             Ben Lowry Editor The darkest evenings of the year are now upon us, almost two weeks before the winter solstice. The forecast in Belfast in the coming days is appropriately dark, cloudy and wet with football called off today but soon the light will return    It was the 40th anniversary on Thursday of one of the most significant murders in Northern Ireland, that of the Edgar Graham, aged 29.    His sister Anne writes here about hearing on the radio that a unionist had been shot at Queen's University and thinking it had to be Edgar    The ex Alliance leader John Cushnahan calls on Sinn Fein to dissociate itself from the murder    I write here about the murder how it was a bid to scare unionists out of politics, and did just that    And here is an article on Edgar from David Trimble's biographer    The return of Stormont remains in the spotlight.
