Not only is Christmas near, but the days are getting longer! A glorious time

And, wow, a child born at 26 weeks, thought the most premature ever to survive in Ireland, is celebrating her first Christmas!

The magic of the season was captured by the Ulster Orchestra, writes Alf McCreary

Helen McGurk talks to people born on December 25. Do they get double the presents? Um, no, I'd say. My birthday is just a few days after and I am still traumatised from joint Christmas and birthday gifts when other kids including my siblings got two separate lots of presents (well, not the sibling born on Dec 30!).

Both Sandra Chapman and Canon Ian Ellis hope for festive peace, not war

But there is no metaphorical peace in politics.

This article by Dean Godson of the influential London think-tank Policy Exchange shows how Irish criticism of the UK is leading to growing criticism in return. He accuses it of Anglophobia, while free-loading on security

Then Ireland said it was suing the UK on legacy, sparking bitter controversy. It is almost the first time I have seen London very bluntly criticise Dublin

Naomi Long said that she was "embarrassed for me", as editor, after our front page yesterday said Alliance appeared to be split on whether or not it supported the Irish action against the UK. Here is the full story, judge for yourself

Have a wonderful Christmas, thank you for reading us, we are back in the shops on Boxing Day and publishing online throughout
