Good afternoon

Welcome to your Coronavirus and general news update from the News Letter

The most popular piece on our website this afternoon is the story that Donna  Traynor is to leave the BBC 'with immediate effect'. She  said: "It is with deep sadness that, after almost 33 years, I am leaving the job that I love and resigning from BBC Northern Ireland'.

With one month to go before the High Street Scheme closes, Economy Minister Gordon Lyons today urged all Spend Local cardholders to "spend it now, spend it all and spend it local". The Minister said: "To date over 1.3 million Spend Local cards have been dispatched, with over one million activated and in use. Already over £50m has been injected into our retail, hospitality and service sectors and traders have reported a noticeable uplift in footfall.

An ambulance divert from Craigavon Hospital, for all but life-threatening emergencies, and which was stood down last night, has now resumed. "The hospital is very full and there are currently 27 patients waiting for a bed on a ward.

Opinion:
* Festival of Remembrance in Northern Ireland's centenary year did not include a tribute to the service and losses on behalf of the province.
