Dear reader

As expected, the Stormont Executive has decided to rubberstamp the long-awaited relaxation of coronavirus restrictions across Northern Ireland next week.

Indoor hospitality can finally reopen on Monday for the first time since December and people will be able to meet inside private homes for the first time this year. Tourism accommodation will also reopen.

There was also good news for those wishing to escape the dull Northern Ireland weather.

Stormont ministers are following a green list of destinations adopted by England, with those wishing to holiday in Portugal for example able to do so without needing to quarantine on their return.

Those hoping to book a last-minute table at a restaurant next week might end up disappointed mind you. It's great to hear from Hospitality Ulster's Colin Neill that tables are booked up across Northern Ireland for Monday.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I welcome this news, and I'm sure so many of you can't wait to sample the best hospitality that Northern Ireland has to offer once again!
