The Northern Ireland public cannot be kept in lockdown if the IRA can do as it pleases.

* The coronavirus death toll reported by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency has increased to nearly 3,000.
The latest statistics from the agency show that 13 deaths involving Covid-19 occurred in the week 20th to 26th March 2021

* Detectives investigating the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr have made a renewed appealed for information on the 10th anniversary of his death.
The 25-year-old PSNI officer died after a bomb exploded under his car as he left his apartment in Highfield Close to go to work in Enniskillen.

* The Chief Constable has said the PSNI still stands over the 2015 Assessment of Paramilitary groups which asserts an ongoing relationship between the IRA Army Council and Sinn Fein.
Simon Byrne told the News Letter that the ongoing role of loyalist and republican paramilitaries in Northern Ireland politics is still "very relevant" and "a shame" in light of twenty years having passed since the Patten Report envisioned a fresh start to policing.

* The Police Federation has welcomed a £12.3 million boost for the PSNI, but said it amounts to no more than a "sticking plaster" for the cash-strapped organisation.
PFNI chair, Mark Lindsay, said: "Securing the jobs of 300 officers as well as delivering 100 new recruits eases the burden for a cash-strapped organisation.
