Subscribe              Dec 2, 2020           Dear reader Wednesday will go down as one of the most significant days yet in the battle against the coronavirus.  It was announced this morning that the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine has been approved for use in the United Kingdom,hopefully heralding the beginning of the end of this dreadful pandemic.  Health Minister Robin Swann believes that the first vaccinations could begin as early as next week, coming forward from the anticipated date of December 14. It is expected that health service staff and those in their eighties will be the among the first in the population to get the vaccine. It goes without saying that this is momentous news and positive light at the end of what has been a dark tunnel for everyone.  The news came as the lockdown restrictions imposed by the Stormont Executive continue to cause controversy. The owner of a gym in County Down appeared in court on Wednesday accused of breaching Covid regulations. Declan Trainor is accused of failing to close his gym in line with the Covid restrictions.  Meanwhile, another four people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died in Northern Ireland, bringing the total number of deaths recorded by the Department of Health to 1,015.  In addition, another 416 people have recorded positive tests for Covid-19.
