Dear reader

As the NI Executive meet to discuss and reach agreement on the next steps to tackle the coronavirus pandemic it was announced that another 7 people have lost their lives after being diagnosed with the virus

The department of health dashboard revealed that 4 of the deaths happened within the last 24 hour period whilst three other deaths were recorded but not within the current reporting period.

These increasing numbers are a concern to us all.

As a result of the number of people requiring hospital care the News Letter has revealed that the Belfast Trust is to begin moving coronavirus patients into the Tower Block at Belfast City Hospital.  The Nightingale facility was opened during the first wave of the pandemic but was stood down in May as the number of hospital patients began to drop.

Worryingly for many parents, one of the papers being considered today by the Executive suggests that Covid-19 infection rates will keep rising if schools and the hospitality sector remain open. This is just one of the issues  facing the Executive.

As this newsletter is issued there has been no announcement that a statement from the Executive will be forthcoming today but if it is we will bring you all the breaking news as it happens at .www.newsletter.co.uk/.

Stay safe
