Ben Lowry - Sunday sunshine

I sat down in front of the television. I was about to shovel a spoonful of porridge into my mouth, when a woman sitting on the toilet appeared on screen singing the praises of bladder leak pads, as she demonstrated their absorbency. I instantly gagged!

It is gloriously sunny in Belfast as it is set to be in most of Northern Ireland for most of today, perhaps not in the northerly areas.

It was the same at the Balmoral Show yesterday where it was packed and there was a fabulous atmosphere.

There was plenty of sunshine at this year's event, but sadly no royal. Once they came almost annually but now there are far fewer working royals.

The weekend News Letter with a Farming Life Special is still in the shops, and tomorrow the print paper will have more pictures and a round-up report from Richard Halloran.

The former children's TV presenter Timmy Mallett has loved his cycle around Northern Ireland.

This is an extraordinary development with regard to the Irish Sea border - the government has stopped releasing information on the number of checks, which hitherto was readily available under Stormont questions.

There have been ceremonies to mark 50 years since the atrocious Dublin and Monaghan terrorist massacres.

In sport, this is a report on the Belfast football club Willowbank's successful season in the amateur league.

In biking here is Kyle White on the young prospect Jack Burrows.

Here is Johnny McNabb on whether Rory McIlroy's recent run of form and change of outlook can end his wait for another major title.

Enjoy your reading and your Sunday,

Ben
