Thursday was the worst July day I remember in years. I began the day in Donegal, where I had been away for a few days, in rain and ended it in Belfast, where at 10pm it was still daylight but also still windy and wet.
Today is delightful in Belfast but I see at lunchtime some rain in the west. I hope Donegal Orangemen escape that and I hope that there is good weather in Belfast on Wednesday if that magnificent winding parade proves to be the last long one
I was thinking of eagles in Donegal, when I was near to Glenveagh Park, which has them. How sad to return to read of this find of a poisoned eagle in Ballymena, which had been released hundreds of miles away by Micheal Martin
