So it did rain on St Swithin's Day, a week ago, but not much where I was.

And it rained again for much of yesterday and this morning. By Tuesday of last week Northern Ireland had already passed its average rain for July

I am enjoying July in NI even so, and would not want to have shield from the heat on the Med. Sandra Chapman remembers enjoying the heat of Greece when she was younger but some people last week have had their holidays to that country spoiled by being stuck there

With the weather here cooler than it was a month ago, the slight rise in the cost of oil has caught many readers' eye

We reported an ex RUC man explaining how he was investigated for seven years for shooting an IRA leader  and then how the former officer has called on a lawyer to withdraw the claim that he murdered the terrorist

In opinion, there were many readers for this letter by the former Ulster Unionist politician Jeremy Burchill, who now lives in Yorkshire, saying unionists should not go back to Stormont because they would have to implement the Irish Sea border

I write about how the expansion of the low emissions zone to outer London got unpopular because it began to affect motorists whose movements are akin to many drivers in Northern Ireland, by being partly urban, partly rural
