Five further deaths of patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have been reported in Northern Ireland. The Department of Health said there had also been 1,071 new confirmed cases in the last 24-hour reporting period. On Thursday morning, there were 425 Covid-19 patients in hospital, with 38 in intensive care.
A total of 2,501,235 vaccines have been administered.

Unionists have urged Irish President Michael D Higgins to clarify if he intends to "snub" a major event next month marking the centenary of Northern Ireland.

Grim tidings were aired at a Stormont committee today, as a haulage boss indicated that the protocol is such a "bureaucratic nightmare" that it may finish off his firm within months.

*Victims relatives to raise Troubles amnesty concerns with United Nations.
Opposition to a Government plan to ban future prosecutions related to the Northern Ireland Troubles is to be raised with a United Nations body.
