Dear reader

Today the News Letter and JPI Media titles throughout the country are asking questions of readers to find out what has changed since lockdown - and what the new society which emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic should look like to benefit us all.

Questions range from what is important to you in the light of lockdown to gauging public confidence as we emerge.

The survey will look at the impact of the pandemic on the economy and your spending habits as well as shining a light on healthcare provision in our communities. It will also ask what we have learned from the past six months and if you have maintained that community spirit since. We hope it will lead to changes in the way we live and work.

We would ask you to join in the Big Conversation with us online at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/bc-newsletter

It has been a day of acrimony in relation to the Stormont Executive's strategy in combating the spread of coronavirus.

The controversy started on Monday morning when East Antrim MP Sammy Wilson claimed in a BBC radio interview that but for the DUP, the new social restrictions announced by the Executive last week would have been much more severe.

However, the Ulster Unionist health minister Robin Swann, took to Twitter, to deny what he called "bogus claims" that he had lobbied for stricter restrictions.

Meanwhile, two people with Covid-19 died over the weekend, the Department of Health has revealed. Northern Ireland's death toll in relation to Covid-19 now stands at 570.

The rise in new cases in the Province is showing few signs of abating with another 108 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours. This is above the average number of cases in recent weeks.

The reopening of some of Northern Ireland's premier attractions is continuing. It was confirmed on Monday that Carrickfergus Castle will reopen to the public next month

An under-18s version of Northern Ireland's Covid tracing app is also set to be launched before the end of the month. The app will include age-appropriate information and encouragement throughout all stages to speak to a parent or guardian. The Department of Health stressed that children will be able to use the app in a way that ensures anonymity.

Thanks
