Back to school, back to business..

As schools return, so too does business momentum across Northern Ireland — and this week has been no exception.

One of the top stories grabbing readers' attention is the positive news that House Belfast, the stylish 31-room boutique hotel, has been acquired out of administration by Havana Trading No.3 Ltd. This acquisition secures the future of the much-loved venue and safeguards nearly 50 jobs.

Meanwhile, in the hospitality sector, there's been a mix of highs and lows. The closure of two Northern Ireland fish and chip shops, due to rising costs, struck a chord with readers and highlights the ongoing pressures many small businesses continue to face.

And also speaking of chippies, a beloved Ballymena takeaway has made national headlines named among the UK's top 40 fish and chip shops in the prestigious National Fish & Chip Awards 2026. The owner credited the success to their "incredible team and our wonderful customers".
