I am not an early riser but woke yesterday at 507am to a dawn chorus, an hour before dawn, and 20 minutes before civil twilight, what the military and farmers and shipping crews call 'first light'. It was the prelude to an almost perfect sunny spring day in Belfast.

Yesterday I mentioned this story about sightings of a white crow. The RSPB is excited to announce that the distinctive call of the Corncrake has been heard again on Rathlin Island.

Here is another animal story about a pet adbuction bill, that will apply in England and Northern Ireland. And this story is about one of Northern Ireland's biggest fishmongers saying that fish consignments of fish are being compounded in Belfast port or sent back to Scotland due to the Irish Sea border.

With regard to the trade barrier, Jim Allister says it turns out that the DUP has agreed to Northern Ireland being able to be governed by foreign EU laws we don't even know about

Meanwhile there is no sign of a UUP-DUP electoral deal with Robin Swann saying he will step down as health minister when a general election is called so he can run for Westminster.

The Alliance Party campaign for Lagan Valley is under way, while Carla Lockhart MP is seeking clarity from Alliance on its position on 'gender affirming healthcare'.

The Presbyterian Church is marking 50 years of its Mission Board. Here is Rev Norman Hamilton on the gifts that need to be properly recognised.

Here is our sports editor on Niall Currie's journey to join Ronnie McFall as a Portadown-born title-winning manager. And in biking, Jonathan Rea gets his best result of the season.

Enjoy your Sunday reading!

Ben
