Good morning

Perhaps the next city in Ukraine to be targeted by Russia will be Odesa, with its forces not far away.

In this piece by the former News Letter journalist Brian Ogle, a repeat visitor, I was struck by him saying that on his first visit the wide tree lined streets leading down to the sea reminded him of France, because I too recall the city's beauty:

Our web traffic shows there is a lot of local interest in the role of Northern Ireland built missiles in the Ukraine war

Meanwhile in Northern Ireland itself, there is great concern at the sky high cost of fuel

In politics, last night in Crossgar the DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, TUV leader Jim Allister, UUP councillor Jill Macauley, Baroness Hoey and Ben Habib addressed the rally against the Irish Sea border

There have been recriminations within unionism after the passing of the integrated education bill, with this Kilkeel primary school principal particularly outspoken

There are also sharply divided views when sport meets culture and religion. With the Irish league final tomorrow, the footballing legend David Jeffrey says he prefers on Sunday to be "worshipping God"

From sport, plans to revive the debt-hit Ulster Grand Prix in 2022 have fallen through in a major setback for Irish road racing with confirmation that the iconic Dundrod meeting has been cancelled

As the stature of the Irish League continues to grow, so too does the esteem in which the local game's rising talent is held, says Gareth McAuley

In today's weekend edition, a BetMcLean League Cup final preview package online Saturday and Sunday, as well as video interviews and preview copy from the Coleraine and Cliftonville camps ahead of Sunday's final

From Farming Life, an MP warns of the disastrous consequences on the cards as red diesel changes edge closer

As ever there is so much more on our website, and our bumper edition News Letter and Farming Life is in the shops until tomorrow
