Sadly, once again, five further deaths of patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have been reported in Northern Ireland. The Department of Health said there have also been 1,875 new confirmed cases in the last 24-hour reporting period. On Friday morning there were 383 Covid-positive patients in hospital, with 45 in intensive care. So far, 2,434,651 vaccines have been administered.
* UFU: Shortage of migrant labour may hit Christmas in Northern Ireland. The Ulster Farmers Union has written to the Secretary of State requesting an urgent meeting due to concerns about the shortage of seasonal workers and HGV drivers needed to meet annual Christmas demand for fresh food.
