In Coronavirus news

Sadly, once again, five further deaths of patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have been reported in Northern Ireland.
The Department of Health said there have also been 1,875 new confirmed cases in the last 24-hour reporting period. On Friday morning there were 383 Covid-positive patients in hospital, with 45 in intensive care. So far, 2,434,651 vaccines have been administered.

Northern Ireland's chief medical officer is encouraging the public to spend time outdoors over the bank holiday weekend to slow the spread of Covid-19.


* Thirty-six Northern Ireland deaths linked to Covid-19 announced in latest weekly bulletin issued by Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA).
The fatalities happened in the week August 14 to 20, according to the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra).

* Seven new locations to join travel green list freeing Brits from quarantine.
The additions will provide more quarantine-free holiday options, as international travel continues to gradually open back up.

The Ulster Farmers Union has written to the Secretary of State requesting an urgent meeting due to concerns about the shortage of seasonal workers and HGV drivers needed to meet annual Christmas demand for fresh food.
