Good afternoon,

Unfortunately, Covid-19 is causing further concern in Northern Ireland.

The rise in cases over the weekend was of such grave concern that the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust has established more than a dozen additional intensive care unit (ICU) beds but it doesn't stop there - Northern Ireland's Chief Nursing Officer, Charlotte McArdle, has said it's a "real possibility" we could see the reopening of the Nightingale Hospital if hospital admissions continue on the way they have been recently.

Also, earlier this morning DUP MLA and deputy chair of the Stormont health committee, Pam Cameron, told BBC broadcaster Stephen Nolan, that she had been informed that one of the 26 people in ICUs across Northern Ireland is a teenager who, according to Stephen Nolan, is 'fighting for their life'.

The Executive is also due to meet today to discuss the easing of more restrictions i.e. face coverings in places of worship - make sure to stay tuned to our live Covid-19 blog for all the updates as and when they happen.
